Family Counsellor | Family and Relationship Service | Bundaberg or Gympie

Employment Term: Permanent Part-time (22.8 hours per week)

Location: Bundaberg or Gympie

Remuneration: $53.43 p/hr + Super + NFP salary packaging of up to $15,900 and $2,650 for meals and entertainment

Your part in our UnitingCare team

We are currently seeking to appoint a Family Counsellor to work as a part of our UnitingCare Family and Relationship Service based at Bundaberg or Gympie.

Responsibilities

- Provide individual, couple and group counselling and education with an aim to strengthen family relationships
- Prevent breakdown and ensure the wellbeing and safety of children and adults who live in all kinds of families.

Essential to the role is:

- Sound knowledge of and/or demonstrated ability to provide counselling and related services within a therapeutic context to a range of clients with issues including, but not limited to, domestic and family violence, sexual abuse, child abuse, relationship discord and grief and loss.
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, oral and written communication and advocacy skills are required along with a proven ability to work co-operatively within a multi-disciplinary team in a complex human services environment.

What makes a difference for us?

- Possession of a Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or Behavioural Science from a recognised tertiary institution coupled with prior experience.
- Qld Suitability Card for Child Related Employment (Blue Card).
- Current Drivers Licence.
- Willingness to undergo a criminal history check.
