About the role
Brilliant Boton Australia is seeking an experienced Reliability Engineer to join our GTSC Embedded Engineering Team, supporting a Tier-1 iron ore mining client across Perth and Pilbara operations. This is a high-impact embedded engineering role focused on improving the reliability and performance of fixed plant, conveyor and bulk materials handling assets. The position will be based between the client's Perth Airport office and Pilbara mine sites, with regular site travel required.
Key responsibilities
- Provide embedded reliability engineering support to maintenance, engineering and operations teams
- Lead and support root cause analysis and structured failure investigations
- Identify recurring equipment issues and develop practical defect elimination and reliability improvement initiatives
- Analyse maintenance, inspection, failure and condition monitoring data to identify trends and emerging risks
- Support the development and optimisation of maintenance strategies and condition-based maintenance programs
- Investigate equipment failures, abnormal wear, premature component failures and repeat operational issues
- Support conveyor and bulk materials handling asset health and condition monitoring activities
- Develop technical reports, RCA documentation, engineering recommendations and reliability improvement plans
- Apply risk-based engineering principles to equipment condition and failure assessments
- Participate in site inspections, major maintenance activities and failure investigations where engineering support is required
About you
- Engineering qualification or equivalent relevant technical background, preferably in Reliability Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Materials Engineering, or other relevant engineering disciplines supported by substantial reliability experience
- Experience in reliability engineering within mining, mineral processing, fixed plant, bulk materials handling or heavy industry
- Strong analytical skills with practical site experience
- Root cause analysis and structured failure investigation experience
- Defect elimination and repeat-failure reduction experience
- Maintenance strategy development and optimisation experience
- Reliability-centred maintenance principles knowledge
- Condition monitoring and asset health assessment experience
