About the Role The Research Assistant will join the Eye Genetics Research Unit, supporting cutting-edge research into the genetic and molecular causes of eye disease and the development of next-generation therapies. Working both independently and collaboratively, the role contributes to laboratory research activities, data analysis, scientific reporting, and the advancement of sight-saving treatments for inherited retinal conditions.
Responsibilities
- Hands-on experience in a research laboratory workplace, including tissue culture techniques.
- Strong scientific research skills with the ability to generate,
analyse and accurately record research data.
- Excellent organisational, communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Experience in human stem cell culture, retinal organoids, or advanced microscopy techniques will be highly regarded.
Qualifications
- Degree in biomedical science, molecular biology, genetics, cell biology, biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline.
Required Skills
- Strong scientific research skills.
- Ability to generate, analyse and accurately record research data.
- Excellent organisational, communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in human stem cell culture.
