Position Overview: As a Casual Residential Youth Worker, you’ll play a vital role in supporting children and young people living in out-of-home care. You’ll help create a safe, reliable, and nurturing environment while supporting young people to build life skills, resilience, and positive connections. With rosters planned in advance,
you’ll enjoy flexibility and greater work-life balance, with opportunities for consistent ongoing shifts as well as emergency and ad hoc work.
Responsibilities:
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people
- Create a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed environment
- Support daily living tasks including meals, personal care, hygiene, and routines
- Encourage independence, emotional regulation, and social development
- Assist with school attendance, appointments, and community participation
- Administer medication and maintain accurate case notes/documentation
- Support complex behaviours using trauma-informed practices and TCI strategies
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and care plans
- Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and reflective practice
We’re Looking For To be considered for this Youth Worker role, you’ll need to have (or be open to obtaining) the following:
- Hold (or be studying towards) a Certificate IV in Youth Work, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Social Work, Disability Support Work or similar Community Services industry
- Australian Drivers License (OPEN) Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
- Current First Aid & CPR certificate
- Police Check
