About the Role
We are seeking experienced Residential Care Workers / Youth Workers to support young children in a structured residential setting on the Sunshine Coast. This role requires a high level of professionalism, emotional intelligence, and the ability to manage complex behaviours while maintaining a safe and nurturing environment.
You will be responsible for providing day-to-day care, implementing care plans, and supporting children with their developmental, emotional, and behavioural needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, trauma-informed care to children and young people
- Support daily routines including personal care, meals, education, and activities
- Implement individual care plans, behaviour support plans, and risk assessments
- Manage challenging behaviours using approved strategies and de-escalation techniques
- Maintain accurate documentation, incident reports, and progress notes
- Work collaboratively with families, case managers, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ensure compliance with NDIS standards, Child Safety requirements,
and organisational policies
Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Demonstrated experience working with children or young people in residential care or similar settings
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and behaviour management
- Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (or equivalent) - REQUIRED
- Diploma level qualifications accepted as an alternative
- Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (Yellow Card)
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
- Current Police Check issued within the last 3 months
- Ability to work shift work, including sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays
- Can start immediately
