Role Description The Sales Business Development Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Sydney, NSW. This role is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities across government and enterprise markets, building solid relationships with senior technology and business stakeholders, and managing the complete sales lifecycle from prospecting through to closing and account growth.
Day-to-day responsibilities include researching target accounts and market opportunities, developing outbound sales strategies, engaging CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, IT Directors and procurement stakeholders, conducting discovery meetings, qualifying opportunities, preparing proposals and capability presentations,
coordinating with technical teams, negotiating commercial terms, and maintaining an accurate sales pipeline.
The Sales Business Development
Manager will work closely with AIIDA's cybersecurity, cloud, software engineering, data, testing, and managed services teams to develop tailored solutions aligned with client requirements. The role also involves identifying government procurement and tender opportunities, attending client meetings and industry events, developing strategic accounts, and consistently achieving agreed revenue and pipeline targets.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in B2B sales and business development, with a strong track record of prospecting, opportunity development, pipeline management, negotiation, and closing new business.
- Experience selling ICT consulting, cybersecurity, cloud, software development, managed services, professional services, technology solutions, or specialist ICT resources is highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of consultative and solution-based selling, with the ability to identify client challenges and connect them with appropriate technology capabilities.
- Proven ability to develop relationships with senior stakeholders including CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, IT Directors, Heads of Technology, Procurement Managers, and business leaders.
- Strong current-business acquisition mindset, with the ability to independently identify target accounts, create opportunities, and build a sustainable sales pipeline.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Proficiency in CRM platforms and sales analytics, with the ability to maintain accurate opportunity data, forecast revenue, and report against sales targets.
- Experience working with government, local government, enterprise, or regulated industries is highly advantageous.
- Understanding of Australian government procurement, tenders, RFQs, RFIs, panels, or ICT supplier arrangements will be highly regarded.
- Commercially minded, with an understanding of revenue, gross margin, pricing, sales targets, and account-growth strategies.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with technical and delivery teams.
- Strong networking and relationship-building capability, with a genuine interest in developing long-term client partnerships.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Willingness to work on-site in Sydney, NSW, and attend client meetings, industry events, networking functions, and government/enterprise engagements as required.
