Viking Imports is an family-owned specialty food importer, distributor and 3PL provider. We supply premium food products to Australia’s leading independent retailers, health food stores, specialty delis and major supermarket chains. Some of our best sellers are frozen wild blueberries, organic goat feta and Swedish crispbreads!

With an existing footprint in Sydney, we are looking to substantially ramp up our NSW sales with your help. With a growing portfolio and business expansion underway, we are on the search for our new Sydney sales super star to join the team.

The Role A dream role for the results-focused foodie, day to day your focus will be on business development by winning new retail accounts and increasing both the frequency and value of customer orders.

While you’ll start with existing customers to hit the ground running, it’s your drive, ambition and target‑smashing mindset that will set you apart. With plenty of room to shape the role, you’ll build or enhance your reputation in food sales and FMCG.

Overall, your responsibilities include:

- Selling our full portfolio of premium brands and new products to your existing and new accounts

- Building and managing a solid client base of retail grocery customers

- Growing volume, distribution, and profitability with existing outlets

- Acquiring new stores (new business commission included!)

- Ensuring excellent in-store product execution, merchandising and range compliance

- Executing an effective journey plan to cover your geographical territory

- Working collaboratively with our other sales reps and brand owners to maximise the presence and availability of our portfolio

- Log calls, prospects and store visits into our CRM, Opmetrix

- Identifying in store range gaps,



off location opportunities and creating promo calendars for customers

- Having eyes on the ground for new trends, competitors and products

- Achieving sales and distribution targets across new and existing accounts

Ideally, you have experience working in a sales rep role in the independent retail channel.

A valid Australian Drivers Licence is a must. Some monthly regional travel will be required in this role.

What you bring to the table

You have common sense, are easy to get along with and can’t stop talking about food.

Additionally, you will bring:

- Sales experience, ideally in the food industry selling to independent retailers, health food stores and premium grocers
- A shared passion for brilliant food and beverage, natural and organic brands

- Solid experience in closing sales and opening new business

- Excellence in working autonomously. Your biggest competition is your own high standards, and you strive to beat your personal best
- The drive, motivation, and energy to represent our brands with passion
- A good working knowledge of MS Office & Apps, iPads, iPhones and CRM (Opmetrix).

- A desire to grow your career in a fast-paced and exciting company.

- Excellent communication, people skills and the ability to build quick rapport

What we provide

We offer an attractive salary package with a car allowance, iPhone, iPad and commission (that can equate to up to 15-20% of your base salary!). Additionally, there are strong bonus and brand incentives for over and above performance.

We provide weekly sales reports and meetings to help you identify opportunities, administrative support from our headquarters in Sydney and a lovely team to work with. Additionally, the specialty products you’ll be representing are imported under exclusivity contracts and therefore have no competition in the Australian market and minimal presence in major corporate grocery banners.
