APS6 Senior Investigator - Veterans & Wellbeing
Location: Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and others may be considered
Contract: 12 months, with a further 6-month extension option stated in the source
Pay:$85.52 p/h including super
Work type: Full-time
Work arrangement: Hybrid/versatile, with specific arrangements agreed with your supervisor on a case-by-case basis
Clearance: Must hold a current NV1 clearance or above

About the Role

This is hands-on APS6 investigation work with our Federal Government client. You'll conduct complex and sensitive investigations in a compliance and regulation environment supporting veterans, clients and providers.
You'll assess and plan cases, interview people, manage evidence and confidential information, and prepare statements, affidavits and briefs of evidence. The work can also include court evidence, referrals to relevant authorities and out-of-office investigative activity.

What You'll Be Doing

- Assess and plan cases and conduct interviews
- Prepare statements and affidavits
- Collect, secure and manage evidential material and confidential information
- Prepare cases and briefs of evidence for referral
- Analyse information and produce accurate investigation reports
- Work with staff,



partner agencies, clients, providers and third parties
- Provide evidence in criminal and/or civil court when required
- Support out-of-office investigative activity, including domestic travel and overnight stays where required

What You Bring (Essential Criteria)

- You've conducted complex or sensitive investigations and can explain your personal role
- You hold a Certificate IV in Government Investigations, or its equivalent
- You can assess cases, plan investigative work and conduct interviews
- You can prepare statements, affidavits and manage evidential material
- You can analyse information and produce clear investigation reports and briefs
- You can work professionally with internal staff, agencies, clients, providers and third parties
- You're an Australian citizen
- You must hold a current NV1 clearance or above

Nice to Have (Desirable Criteria)

- Department of Veterans' Affairs or closely related veterans-sector investigation experience
- Experience applying the Australian Government Investigation Standards
- Experience preparing briefs of evidence for AFP or CDPP referral
- Experience in provider, compliance or regulatory investigations
