Role Description This full-time Senior / Building Consultant / UK Building Surveyor role is based in Sydney, NSW and offered on a hybrid basis, combining on-site work with some work from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting detailed technical inspections of commercial properties, preparing high-quality Technical Due Diligence reports, and providing explicit commercial advice based on building condition and client objectives. The role involves project planning for due diligence assignments,
coordinating with internal specialists and external stakeholders, and managing multiple projects within compressed timeframes.
The consultant will engage directly with clients to understand their strategies, present findings, and support decision-making for acquisition and disposal processes. The position requires proactive problem-solving, adherence to professional standards, and consistent delivery of accurate, timely output.
Qualifications
- Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS) or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
- Strong technical background in construction, including building pathology, commercial property structures, and building services.
- Proven experience in property inspection and condition assessment of commercial buildings.
- Demonstrated capability in project planning, including scoping, scheduling, and managing Technical Due Diligence assignments.
- Experience in Technical Due Diligence for commercial property transactions is highly beneficial.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise technical and commercial reports.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to form balanced commercial views from technical information.
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment, with the ability to manage site work in Sydney and remote reporting effectively.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within NSW for site inspections as required.
