About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Deputy Clinical Nurse Manager to join our West Perth team. This is a key clinical leadership position working Monday to Friday, providing consistent leadership and support across the home. You will work closely with the Facility Manager and Clinical Nurse Managers to support the delivery of safe, high‑quality, person‑centred care to our residents.
The Deputy Clinical Nurse Manager will have an active presence across the floor, supporting and mentoring Registered Nurses and care staff while helping to maintain strong clinical standards and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the Facility Manager and Clinical Nurse Managers with the day‑to‑day clinical operations of the home
- Providing clinical leadership, guidance and support to Registered Nurses and care staff
- Supporting clinical governance, quality and continuous improvement activities
- Reviewing incidents, falls, wounds, weight loss, behaviours and other clinical risks and ensuring appropriate follow‑up actions are completed
- Supporting the review and maintenance of resident assessments, care plans and clinical documentation
- Promoting timely escalation and sound clinical decision‑making
- Supporting infection prevention and control, medication management, wound care, falls prevention and other key clinical areas
- Participating in multidisciplinary and clinical meetings and ensuring agreed actions are followed through
- Supporting staff education, coaching and development to strengthen clinical knowledge and practice
- Working collaboratively with residents, families, GPs, allied health professionals and other healthcare providers
- Supporting the management of complaints and clinical concerns and ensuring appropriate follow‑up and communication
- Promoting a positive workplace culture based on teamwork, accountability, respect and resident‑centred care
- Acting as a clinical leadership resource and providing support to the Facility Manager and Clinical Nurse Managers as required
About You
Essential
- Cooperative leadership style with a visible and active presence across the home
- Commitment to resident safety, dignity, choice and quality of life
- Strong communication, organisation and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and ensure actions are followed through
Desirable
- Experience in incident management, quality improvement and clinical risk review
- Experience supporting staff education, coaching and development
- Familiarity with multidisciplinary team processes and external healthcare provider engagement
- Previous experience in a Deputy or senior clinical leadership role
Mandatory Requirements
- Ability to work Monday to Friday in a full‑time leadership role
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
- Full Australian working rights
