About the role

Sushi Train St Peters Station is seeking an experienced and reliable Cook to join the kitchen team on a full-time basis. This role is essential to maintaining food quality, kitchen efficiency, and smooth daily operations in a fast-paced and customer-focused dining environment.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and cook a range of Japanese dishes, including sushi, rolls and hot menu items, in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Assist with daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency, consistency and quality
- Prepare ingredients, including rice, seafood, vegetables and sauces
- Maintain food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards in compliance with regulations
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock rotation
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods
- Ensure kitchen equipment and work areas are kept clean and well maintained

About you





- Minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
- At least 1 year of relevant full-time experience as a Cook or similar role
- Experience in Japanese cuisine or sushi preparation is highly regarded
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Good communication skills and a positive team attitude
