We are seeking an experienced Food Quality Assurance & Compliance Coordinator to manage and continually improve our Food Safety and Quality Management System.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will help ensure our facility, processes, records and products comply with SQF, HACCP, Food Standards Australia New Zealand, NSW Food Authority and customer requirements.

This is a hands-on, on-site role working closely with production employees, suppliers, customers, laboratories and auditors. You will have the authority to escalation food-safety and quality concerns and recommend product holds where requirements have not been met.

Key responsibilities

Maintain and improve the Food Safety and Quality Management System, including SQF, HACCP and regulatory documentation.

Conduct GMP inspections and monitor hygiene, sanitation, temperature, allergen and foreign-material controls.

Review production, cleaning, maintenance and monitoring records for completeness and compliance.

Manage non-conformances, root-cause investigations, corrective actions and product-hold or release decisions.

Coordinate environmental monitoring, allergen verification and product testing, including investigation of out-of-specification results.

Maintain traceability and recall procedures, and conduct mock recalls and mass-balance exercises.

Keep raw-material, packaging and finished-product specifications, labels and approved-supplier records current.

Conduct internal audits and coordinate SQF, HACCP, customer and NSW Food Authority audits or inspections.

Deliver food-safety and quality training and promote a positive, accountable food-safety culture.





Investigate customer complaints and respond to product, allergen, quality and compliance queries.

About you

A tertiary qualification in Food Science, Food Technology or a related discipline.

At least two to three years' quality-assurance or food-safety experience in a food-manufacturing environment.

Recognised HACCP training and sound working knowledge of SQF, HACCP, GMP, allergen management, traceability, internal auditing and corrective-action systems.

An understanding of Australian food legislation and NSW Food Authority requirements relevant to food manufacturing.

Experience reviewing production records, investigating non-conformances and completing root-cause analysis.

Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail.

The confidence to communicate food-safety and quality requirements to employees and management.
