About the role

You'll own our insurance function end to end: the advice, the insurer relationships, the team, and the results. You'll advise our existing client base on insurance reviews, underinsured clients, and warm leads generated by our wealth advisers. You'll lead an established administration team of three who handle processing and track every application daily. You'll be our single point of contact for insurers, platforms, BDMs and underwriters — armed with our insurer performance scorecards — negotiating better service and better outcomes for our clients. You'll help land a structured overhaul of our risk processes, then own it.

Key responsibilities

- Provide quality advice across Life, TPD, Trauma, and Income Protection insurance

- Conduct insurance reviews for existing True Wealth clients and identify gaps in cover

- Manage and convert warm insurance leads and opportunities

- Own the risk insurance component of advice for our wealth advisers' clients

- Lead our insurance administration team — setting standards, managing workflow, and driving performance

- Manage insurer and platform relationships, escalate underwriting issues, and negotiate service improvements

- Work with our external insurance consultant to embed best-practice processes across the function

About you





- Experience as a qualified Risk Adviser — ideally from a risk-only practice, a dedicated risk team, or a risk specialist role — and eligibility to provide personal advice on life insurance products

- Solid knowledge of the Australian personal insurance market and how underwriting really works, from loadings to exclusions

- Confidence managing clients and converting warm opportunities

- Ability to lead an administration team and hold it accountable

- Ideally, established relationships with underwriters and BDMs — or the credibility to build them fast

- An ownership mindset: you see a clunky process and want to fix it

- Right to work in Australia
