Role Description The Senior Commissioning Technician is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Melbourne, VIC. This role is responsible for commissioning, testing, and optimizing HVAC systems in line with project specifications, safety standards, and client requirements. Day‑to‑day tasks include inspecting mechanical and control systems, performing functional and performance tests, identifying and resolving faults, and documenting commissioning results.

The Senior Commissioning

Technician will collaborate with project managers, engineers, installers, and clients to coordinate commissioning schedules, provide technical guidance, and ensure smooth handover of systems. The role also involves mentoring junior technicians,



maintaining accurate records, and supporting continuous improvement in commissioning processes and standards.

Qualifications

- Solid experience in commissioning, testing, and balancing HVAC and mechanical services systems.
- Proficiency in interpreting mechanical drawings, schematics, specifications, and control sequences.
- Sound diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards for HVAC and mechanical services.
- Experience using commissioning tools and instrumentation (e.g., airflow meters, temperature sensors, pressure gauges).
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with project teams, contractors, and clients.
- Organizational skills for managing commissioning schedules, documentation, and reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and support junior technicians and contribute to team development.
- Trade qualification or certificate in air conditioning, refrigeration, mechanical services, or a related discipline.
- Relevant industry licenses and registrations (e.g., refrigeration handling, electrical disconnect/reconnect), as required.
- Experience in commercial or large‑scale HVAC projects, including hyper scale data centres or complex facilities, is highly regarded.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between project sites within the Melbourne area as needed.
