The Opportunity
Our client is a large, highly regarded organisation operating within a complex and fast-growing industry. This is a highly visible role acting as the primary finance partner to several Executive General Managers and their leadership teams. You'll take ownership of the financial performance and strategic direction of a significant portfolio, providing commercial insight and constructive challenge to influence investment, resource allocation and long-term planning decisions.
This is much broader than a traditional business partnering role. You'll operate as a trusted commercial adviser to senior executives, combining strategic finance, investment governance, financial planning and performance management to help shape key organisational decisions and drive change management.
The Challenge
Key responsibilities will include
- Partnering with ELT's on financial strategy, investment and commercial decision-making
- Leading long-term financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance management across a significant portfolio
- Developing 3-5 year financial strategies, investment roadmaps and scenario modelling
- Providing commercial insight and constructive challenge around costs, investment decisions and resource allocation
- Overseeing significant operating and capital investment portfolios, ensuring investment is aligned with strategic priorities and affordability
- Reviewing business cases, investment proposals and financial assumptions
- Managing one direct report,
while leveraging broader Finance resources to deliver outcomes
The Expertise
Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:
- CA/CPA qualification with significant experience across commercial finance, business partnering, FP&A; or strategic finance
- A proven track record partnering with Executive-level stakeholders within a large or complex organisation
- Strong commercial acumen with the confidence to influence, challenge and shape senior-level decision-making
- Advanced financial modelling, analysis and business case evaluation capability
- Solid experience across budgeting, forecasting and performance management
- Experience overseeing significant operating or capital investment portfolios will be highly regarded
