THE ROLE

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Full-Stack Engineer to take ownership across our web application, mobile experience, backend services and AI-enabled capabilities.

You will write production code, ship end-to-end features, review pull requests, make pragmatic engineering decisions and contribute to the reliability of a product used by customers every day.

This is a full-time, permanent and fully on-site role in Hampton, Melbourne.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

- Build and maintain web applications using Next.js, React and TypeScript
- Develop and ship mobile functionality using React Native and Expo for iOS and Android
- Deliver full-stack features across user interfaces, backend services, APIs, databases and integrations
- Build and improve AI-enabled product features using LLMs, structured outputs, prompt design and evaluation practices
- Contribute to voice-agent and conversational-AI capabilities, including telephony, real-time audio and voice workflows
- Design and maintain reliable data models, APIs, authentication and access-control patterns
- Maintain production quality through testing, code review, monitoring, debugging and incident response
- Work with product and leadership to turn customer needs into well-scoped, high-quality releases
- Help strengthen engineering standards, documentation and practical AI-assisted development workflows

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Essential experience

- 5–8 years of commercial full-stack software-development experience




- Strong production experience with TypeScript, React and Next.js
- Experience building and shipping production applications using Node.js and relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL
- Experience with React Native and Expo, including at least one shipped iOS or Android application
- Experience delivering consumer or B2B software used by real customers
- Experience integrating LLMs or AI capabilities into production workflows
- Practical experience with AI-assisted engineering tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Aider or equivalent
- Experience with cloud-hosted production systems, CI/CD, monitoring and debugging
- Ability to work independently, own technical outcomes and collaborate through substantive code review
- Availability to work full-time and on-site in Hampton, Melbourne

HIGHLY REGARDED

- Experience with voice AI, voice agents, telephony, WebRTC, real-time audio, speech-to-text, text-to-speech or conversational interfaces
- Experience with backend frameworks such as NestJS, Express or similar
- Strong PostgreSQL schema-design experience, including row-level security or comparable fine-grained access controls
- Experience designing reliable APIs, integrations and data-processing workflows
- Experience in health technology, fintech, privacy-sensitive consumer products or another regulated environment
- Familiarity with Australian Privacy Act principles,



security-by-design or Australian data-residency requirements
- Experience with Docker, AWS, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, monorepos or Turborepo
- A GitHub repository, portfolio, technical writing or other public work that demonstrates how you build

Senatra is an AI-first engineering team. AI tools are part of the daily workflow, but engineers remain accountable for architecture, security, testing, edge cases and production outcomes.

We value practical ownership over process. Engineers are expected to write code, review code, improve systems and make good decisions with a clear focus on customer impact and reliability.

We use peer review, automated testing and clear engineering standards to maintain quality while moving quickly.

- $135,000–$155,000 base salary and superannuation, commensurate with experience
