Breakthrough Minerals (ASX:BTM) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Geologist to join its team.
Focused on resource growth and discovery across the Company's flagship North Queensland Copper-Gold Project, the successful candidate will play a key role in planning and executing exploration programs, managing drilling campaigns, interpreting geological data, and advancing high-priority copper-gold targets. Reporting to the Exploration Manager, the Senior Geologist will work closely with field teams and contractors to support the Company's next phase of exploration success.
- Lead and manage RC and diamond drilling programs, from drill planning, design, execution, logging and sampling.
- Develop geological models and undertake geological interpretation.
- Identify, rank and refine copper and copper-gold exploration targets.
- Undertake 3D geological modelling, drill design and exploration data analysis using Micromine.
- Supervise field teams, contractors and service providers.
- Maintain exploration databases and ensure QA/QC compliance.
- Validate geological and assay data and contribute to technical reporting.
- Prepare exploration recommendations and support exploration strategy development.
- Promote safe and efficient exploration practices.
Qualifications and Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Geology.
- 5+ years relevant exploration experience.
- QLD Cu / CuAu exploration experience highly regarded.
- Micromine proficiency essential.
- Experience with any recognised GIS software acceptable.
- Strong experience in RC and diamond drilling management.
- Strong geological interpretation and deposit/target-scale geological modelling capability.
- Working knowledge of exploration QA/QC, geological databases and data validation.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise field teams and manage drilling contractors/service providers.
- Practical, hands-on field geologist comfortable working in a small, fast-moving exploration team.
