What you’ll do:

We're seeking a Senior Materials Handling Engineer to join our Newcastle Mining team. This role is ideal for an experienced mechanical engineer with a strong background in bulk materials handling and a passion for delivering practical, fit-for-purpose solutions across the mining industry.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you'll contribute to the delivery of studies, design packages and project execution activities for clients across coal, metals and minerals projects throughout Australia.

- Lead the design and delivery of bulk materials handling systems for mining projects
- Develop engineering solutions for conveyors, transfer stations, crushers, feeders, bins, chutes and associated equipment
- Prepare design calculations, specifications,



technical reports and engineering documentation
- Support project delivery across study, concept, detailed design and execution phases
- Collaborate with mechanical, structural, electrical, process and civil engineering teams
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to developing engineers
- Engage directly with clients, vendors and project stakeholders
- Participate in site visits, inspections and commissioning support when required

About you: You are a collaborative and technically capable engineer who enjoys solving complex engineering problems and building strong client relationships. You'll ideally bring:

- Degree qualifications in Mechanical Engineering
- 8+ years' experience in mining, minerals processing, bulk materials handling or heavy industry
- Strong experience with bulk materials handling systems and equipment
- Knowledge of conveyor systems, transfer chutes, feeders, crushers, bins and stockpile handling infrastructure
- Experience delivering sustaining capital, brownfield or operational improvement projects
- Strong understanding of Australian and industry engineering standards
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Chartered status or progression towards chartership will be highly regarded
