Achieve Something Great The Elver Program is a specialist statewide mental health service supporting children and young people living in Out of Home Care (OOHC) across New South Wales. Delivered through a unique partnership between South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) and the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ), Elver provides specialist mental health assessment, consultation, intervention, and capacity-building support for children and young people who have experienced significant trauma, abuse, neglect, and disrupted attachment.

As a Senior Mental Health Professional, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, trauma-informed and culturally responsive mental health care to some of the state's most vulnerable children and young people. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will provide clinical leadership, specialist consultation, comprehensive assessments, therapeutic interventions, care coordination, and stakeholder engagement across a range of care settings. This is a rewarding opportunity to influence positive outcomes for children and young people while contributing to system-wide capacity building through training, consultation, and collaborative practice.

The Elver Program offers a supportive and dynamic environment with opportunities for professional growth, clinical supervision, leadership development, and participation in innovative statewide service delivery initiatives.

Are You the Right Fit?

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled mental health professional who is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people with complex mental health needs.

You will bring demonstrated experience working with children, adolescents, and families experiencing trauma, mental health concerns, and psychosocial complexity, together with a strong understanding of the OOHC sector and interagency service delivery.

The successful candidate will possess excellent clinical assessment and intervention skills, confidence managing high-risk and complex presentations, and the ability to provide leadership, mentoring, and support to clinicians and service partners. You will be a collaborative team player with highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, capable of building effective partnerships across health, child protection, education, and community services. Most importantly, you will be committed to delivering strengths-based, trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and culturally safe care that promotes the wellbeing and long-term outcomes of children and young people.

- Demonstrated skills in coordinating and contributing to multidisciplinary care for children and young people in a trauma-informed and culturally secure manner, along with proven experience in providing advanced evidence-based clinical interventions.
