Job Overview:
We are looking to fill three positions within our growing business. The ideal candidates will have previous experience working in a restaurant environment (excluding fast food) and be comfortable working in a fast-paced setting.
Role 1 - Pizza Chef
This position requires prior experience with cooking pizzas in a wood oven. General duties will include managing oven temperatures, cooking up to 5 pizzas at a time ensuring cleanliness of oven and surrounding areas at all times and other general duties involved in making and serving pizzas.
Role 2 - Pizza Catering Assistant/All Rounder
This position also requires prior experience, but only in working in a restaurant environment under fast paced conditions. General duties will include hand stretching pizza dough, topping pizzas and other general duties involved in making and serving pizzas.
The ideal candidates will have a passion for food, excellent customer service skills, and a love for working in a fast-paced, outdoor catering environment. You will play an essential role in assisting with the cooking and serving of delicious wood-fired pizzas at various events, ensuring an exceptional experience for all guests.
Role 3 - Shift Supervisor
The ideal candidate will meet the requirements of either Role 1 or Role 2 , along with experience supervising a team and delivering a high-quality product in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
As a Shift Supervisor, you’ll help deliver smooth, high-quality catering events from setup through to pack-down. You’ll take responsibility for coordinating the team, keeping service running smoothly and making sure everything is taken care of throughout the event.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in Pizza Preparation:
Help prepare fresh dough, toppings, sauces, and other ingredients for pizza assembly, ensuring high standards of hygiene and food safety.
Assist with Cooking in Wood Oven:
Assist the pizza chef in operating the wood oven,
ensuring pizzas are cooked to perfection. You may also be responsible for monitoring the temperature and cleanliness of the oven.
Event Setup & Breakdown:
Assist with the setup of the catering station, including the arrangement of pizza ovens, serving tables, utensils, and ingredients. After the event, help with the breakdown, cleaning, and storing of equipment.
Customer Interaction:
Engage with customers at events, answer questions about menu offerings, and provide a friendly, efficient service to ensure a positive dining experience.
Maintain Food Safety and Cleanliness:
Ensure that all food preparation and serving areas are kept clean and comply with food safety regulations. Follow all guidelines for maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience:
Prior experience in food service, catering, or kitchen environments is required.
Physical Stamina:
Must be able to stand for long periods and carry heavy items (such as ingredients and cooking equipment).
Customer Service:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact well with clients and guests in various settings.
Team Player:
Ability to work effectively within a team in a high-pressure, rapid-paced environment.
Attention to Detail:
Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and event areas.
Flexibility:
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by catering events.
Additional Information:
Training:
On-the-job training will be provided. We are happy to train candidates without prior wood-oven experience, but a passion for food and eagerness to learn is essential.
Travel:
A drivers license, car and willingness to travel to various event locations is essential.
Availability:
Availability for catering events on Friday, Saturday and Sunday is essential.
