Manager Operations Support Services

Council is seeking to appoint a permanent full time Manager Operations Support Services to contribute to Council’s success.

Lead a Diverse and Critical Operational Portfolio:





Take ownership of functions that are essential to delivering services across the Gladstone Region.

Shape Strategy and Influence Executive Decision-Making:

Partner closely with Council leadership, providing specialist advice, driving operational planning, and influencing key business decisions.

Drive Continuous Improvement and High Performance:

Lead transformational initiatives that improve efficiency, service delivery, safety, and organisational performance while building a strong, engaged and customer-focused culture.

About the Role

This is a key multi-functional strategic management role required to provide organisational leadership and oversight of a diverse group of complex functions within a multi-disciplined scope of work and deliver quality and cost-effective operations for the Gladstone region.

Your role will include:

Providing management oversight and coordination of critical functions including fleet management, stores management and operational administration services.

Promoting a positive Workplace Health and Safety culture and ensuring active compliance.

Being present, pro-active and solutions‑focused in an adaptable manner to meet the diverse needs of our internal customers.

Undertaking operational analysis and reporting to drive evidence‑based decision making that enhance the efficiency of service delivery across the Operations team.

You will bring:

Tertiary qualifications in Business (or a related discipline) and/or substantial experience in a strategic management position, with demonstrated success in organisational leadership, service delivery excellence, culture development,



and leading multifunctional teams across diverse business operations.

Substantial years of strategic management experience leading high‑risk complex functions and leadership experience demonstrating behaviours in leading continuous improvement initiatives and building a high‑performance culture whilst fostering a cohesive team approach with an emphasis on safety at work.

Advanced level of demonstrated ability to manage the interactions and relationship between key service providers and stakeholders in the delivering of complex multi‑functional programme of works.

Proven success in solid decision making to ensure government, business, customer and resource requirements are balanced to meet the responsibilities and accountabilities of the management role.

Establish and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders across the region to achieve desired outcomes and to ensure Council is aware of contemporary trends in service delivery, quality and technology.

Advanced communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.

Proficient keyboard skills and experience using Microsoft Office Suite and operating corporate business systems.

Legally able to drive a motor vehicle in Queensland.
