Senior Planner / Scheduler

Our Tier 1 Mining Client is looking for an experienced Senior Planner / Scheduler to support a portfolio of complex R&D; and technology development programs based in Perth.
Roster: 2/5 Perth CBD
Start date: ASAP
Duration: approx. 9 months - depending on client requirements
Pay Rate: $95.00 p/h Super depending on experience

The Role:
Working across multiple concurrent workstreams, you will develop, maintain and control integrated schedules spanning engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, testing, commissioning, operational readiness and handover.
This is a highly cooperative role requiring strong technical scheduling expertise, excellent stakeholder engagement and the ability to provide clear visibility of critical paths, schedule risks, progress and recovery strategies within a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop, maintain and control integrated project and program schedules across complex technology development workstreams.
- Provide expert Oracle Primavera P6 planning and scheduling support, including WBS development, activity coding, logic linking, baselining and progress updates.
- Perform critical path, float and schedule health analysis and provide clear schedule reporting.
- Develop and maintain schedules using Microsoft Project, including dependencies, milestones, baselines and progress tracking.
- Build schedules from high-level program milestones through to detailed execution and short-interval lookahead plans.
- Integrate engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, installation, testing, commissioning and handover activities.
- Coordinate schedule inputs across project teams, contractors, vendors, OEMs and service providers.
- Identify schedule risks, delays, constraints, interfaces and competing priorities.
- Develop recovery plans, mitigation strategies and schedule scenarios to support delivery.
- Provide leadership with milestone reporting, critical path insights, lookahead plans, progress trends and key schedule risks.
- Support continuous improvement of planning standards, templates, reporting and schedule quality.
Relevant Experience:
- Significant experience as a Senior Planner, Scheduler or Project Controls professional within complex project, engineering, construction, commissioning, manufacturing, mining, energy, technology development or heavy industry environments.
- Expert-level Oracle Primavera P6 capability.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project.
- Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining integrated schedules across multiple disciplines, workstreams and stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of WBS development, milestone management, progress measurement, critical path analysis, schedule risk, change control and recovery planning.
- Strong analytical, schedule control and reporting capability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Highly Regarded:
- Qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Planning & Scheduling, Project Controls or a related discipline.
- Experience within R&D;, technology development, pilot plant, laboratory, workshop, hydrogen, electrochemical systems, green iron, decarbonisation or technology scale-up programs.
- Experience with Power BI, SAP, PIMS or similar project controls and reporting systems.
- Experience integrating schedule information across Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Excel and other project reporting systems.
