Key Responsibilities:
Product Strategy, Portfolio & Brand Ownership
- Define and lead the integrated product and marketing strategy across Australia and New Zealand including Pacific Islands, ensuring alignment with GAA’s long-term business objectives
- Own the end-to-end product portfolio and product marketing strategy for Geely and its affiliated brands, including vehicle line-up planning, lifecycle management, positioning, and future model introduction strategy
- Identify portfolio gaps and opportunities across segments, powertrains (ICE/Hybrid/EV), customer demographics, and price positioning
- Ensure strong alignment between product strategy, brand positioning, customer demand, and commercial objectives
Market Intelligence, Consumer Insights & Competitive Strategy
- Lead deep market analysis covering customer needs, competitor positioning, pricing, consumer behaviour, media trends, and emerging market opportunities
- Translate market intelligence and customer insights into actionable product, pricing, and marketing strategies
- Monitor competitor product launches, marketing campaigns, retail activities, and brand positioning to identify risks and growth opportunities
- Provide regular strategic recommendations to senior leadership regarding market direction, customer trends, and competitive landscape changes
Product Positioning, Pricing & Commercial Strategy
- Define product positioning, value proposition, and pricing strategy to maximise market competitiveness, customer appeal, and profitability
- Lead development of business cases for new product introductions, including volume, revenue, margin, and investment assumptions
- Ensure alignment between pricing strategy, brand positioning, dealer commercial viability, and market competitiveness
- Own product profitability and contribution margin across the lifecycle, balancing cost, specification, pricing, and market expectations
- Develop strategic positioning frameworks and product narratives that support brand differentiation and commercial growth
Product Marketing & Brand Communication
- Lead product marketing strategy and execution across vehicle launches, lifecycle campaigns, brand storytelling, and go-to-market activities
- Oversee development of product marketing materials, product communication frameworks, launch messaging, campaign narratives, and customer-facing content
- Ensure product communication clearly reflects brand positioning, competitive advantages, customer value proposition, and market strategy
- Lead collaboration with Marketing teams and agencies to deliver integrated product campaigns across digital, retail, media, social, CRM, and experiential channels
- Ensure marketing activities support both short-term sales objectives and long-term brand equity growth
- Drive alignment between product strategy, media strategy, customer acquisition, and retail conversion activities
- Lead product and brand PR strategy across vehicle launches, media engagement, corporate communications, brand reputation management, and external stakeholder communications, ensuring alignment with overall product, marketing, and business objectives.
- Build and manage relationships with media, agencies, influencers, and industry stakeholders, while overseeing media events, press releases, launch activities, executive communications, and crisis communication management to strengthen brand visibility and market presence.
Product Planning & Launch Execution
- Lead the planning and execution of recent model introductions (NPI), facelifts, and lifecycle actions
- Ensure cross-functional readiness across Sales, Marketing, Aftersales, Supply, PR, and Dealer Network teams
- Drive successful go-to-market execution, including specification, pricing, launch strategy, training, and marketing activation
- Oversee launch timelines, launch governance, retail readiness, and integrated campaign coordination to ensure successful market entry and commercial performance
HQ & Global Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary interface with global HQ product planning and product marketing teams
- Represent the region in global product discussions, influencing product specification, timing, allocation, positioning, and regional marketing requirements
- Ensure effective communication and alignment between global strategy and local execution
- Coordinate with HQ regarding product roadmap, campaign strategy, launch timing, media assets, and regional market priorities
Volume, Demand & Retail Performance Strategy
- Lead volume planning, demand forecasting, and mix strategy for all models in collaboration with Sales and Supply teams
- Align product and marketing strategy with supply constraints, production allocation, retail targets, and business objectives
- Monitor retail performance, campaign effectiveness, conversion metrics, and dealer feedback to optimise sales outcomes and marketing ROI
- Support optimisation of model mix, variants, pricing actions, and tactical campaigns to balance volume growth and profitability
Customer Experience, Brand Experience & Product Localisation
- Champion a customer-centric approach across both product planning and product marketing activities
- Incorporate structured dealer feedback, customer insights, market research, and frontline retail intelligence into product and marketing decisions
- Lead local product specification strategy, ensuring alignment with customer expectations,
ownership experience, and market usage scenarios
- Ensure customer experience, product features, ownership journey, and marketing communication are aligned to brand strategy and competitive positioning
- Support development of differentiated ownership experiences and customer engagement initiatives that strengthen customer loyalty and brand perception
Innovation, EV & Future Mobility Strategy
- Lead product and marketing strategy for EV, hybrid, and emerging mobility solutions in line with regulatory and market trends
- Evaluate and introduce new technologies, connected services, digital ecosystems, and future mobility concepts to maintain market competitiveness
- Develop marketing narratives and customer education strategies for new technologies, electrification, and future mobility products
Cross-functional Leadership, Governance & Operational Alignment
- Work closely with internal teams including Sales, Aftersales, Finance, Product, PR, Dealer Network, Marketing, IT, and HQ stakeholders to ensure aligned commercial and brand execution
- Ensure product and marketing strategies are translated into clear commercial, operational, and customer engagement plans
- Establish robust planning frameworks, reporting cadence, launch governance, campaign review processes, and decision-making structures
- Monitor budget effectiveness, campaign ROI, and operational execution standards across product and marketing activities
- Lead process improvement initiatives, reporting enhancements, and organisational capability building across product planning and marketing functions
- • Undertake additional duties or contribute to projects related to the company’s business operations, including providing leadership or support as reasonably required and consistent with the responsibilities of the role.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in the automotive industry, preferably in product planning, product management, or market research. Experience with NEV (New Energy Vehicles) or premium brands is a strong plus.
- Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Australian automotive landscape, including consumer behavior, competitive landscape, and local compliance requirements (ADR).
- Strategic Mindset: Proven ability to formulate product strategies and define product features that align with business goals. Familiarity with product lifecycle management is essential.
- Communication: Fluent in English (written and spoken) with excellent presentation and negotiation skills. Ability to communicate effectively with global teams and local stakeholders.
- Analytical Skills: Strong data analysis skills with the ability to derive actionable insights from market trends and sales data.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or related fields.
