Are you finishing school, looking to start a trade, or interested in building a hands-on career in the engineering industry?

A well-established South Burnett engineering and fabrication business is now accepting applications for its 2027 Boilermaker Apprenticeship Intake .

This is a fantastic opportunity to complete a nationally recognised trade qualification while gaining practical, hands-on experience working alongside experienced tradespeople.

You'll be exposed to a wide variety of fabrication and engineering work, with the opportunity to develop skills that can lead to a long-term career across engineering, fabrication, mining, power generation, maintenance and heavy industry .

The Apprenticeship

As a Boilermaker Apprentice, you'll learn and develop practical skills in:

- Welding and metal fabrication

- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings

- Measuring, marking out, cutting and preparing materials

- Structural steel and component fabrication

- Using workshop machinery, power tools and welding equipment

- Assembly and repair of fabricated components

- Quality and inspection requirements

- Safe workshop practices and procedures

- Working alongside experienced Boilermakers and other tradespeople

You'll undertake a combination of on-the-job training and TAFE , working towards your nationally recognised trade qualification.

About you

Previous experience isn't essential. Attitude, reliability and a genuine interest in the trade are what we're looking for.

You'll ideally:

- Have a genuine interest in welding, fabrication and engineering

- Enjoy practical, hands-on work





- Be reliable, punctual and willing to learn

- Have a positive attitude and robust work ethic

- Be able to follow instructions and work safely

- Work well as part of a team

- Take pride in your work

- Be comfortable in a physical workshop environment

- Be keen to build a long-term career in the trade

- Have a driver's licence or reliable transport, or be working towards obtaining your licence

School leavers and applicants looking to commence their first apprenticeship are strongly encouraged to apply.

Work Experience Opportunities

Work experience opportunities are also available for students interested in pursuing a Boilermaking apprenticeship.

This is a great way to gain some practical exposure to the industry, experience a working fabrication workshop and get a better understanding of what a career as a Boilermaker involves.
