Diesel Fitter – Haul Truck Brake Rebuilds & Warehouse

Townsville | Full time, permanent | Monday to Friday

Coreparts supplies and rebuilds braking and transmission components for mining haul trucks: calipers, discs, pads and seal kits for Komatsu, Caterpillar, Hitachi and Liebherr fleets. We're a small company operating in Townsville for over 20 years.

We're looking for a diesel fitter for a role that's roughly half workshop and half warehouse. It's Monday to Friday with no roster, so you're home every night.

Workshop (air-conditioned) — about 50%:

Rebuilding heavy-duty haul truck brake calipers: stripping, inspecting and cleaning components, measuring against spec, replacing seals and service items, and recording the work accurately. It's precise, safety-critical work. We'll train you in our procedures, so you don't need caliper experience coming in.

Warehouse (not air-conditioned) — about 50%:

Picking and packing customer orders, receiving and putting stock away, identifying and labelling brake and transmission discs and dry brake components, loading and unloading, and keeping stock records accurate.

Quieter periods:

Mechanical work on the company trucks, cars, tractors and workshop equipment,



plus general maintenance and improvement jobs around the premises. The role suits someone who likes variety and would rather find a job than stand around.

What you'll need:

- Trade qualification as a diesel fitter, or a relevant mechanical trade

- LF forklift licence and LR licence

- Good attention to detail, and able to follow a documented procedure on safety-critical work

- Physically fit and comfortable handling heavy parts with the right equipment

- Basic computer skills for stock control

- Able to meet fit-for-work requirements

- Experience with heavy vehicles, mining equipment, brake systems or parts warehousing is useful but not essential. We're more interested in someone reliable who's after a long-term job than a long list of sites on a resume.
