Newcastle
Our House Support is seeking experienced, values-driven Support Workers to join our Supported Independent Living services across Newcastle and Lake Macquarie. This role suits practitioners who understand what quality support looks like and want to deliver it to a consistently high standard.
Please Note
Sleepover shifts are a core requirement of this role. We ask that you only apply if you are available and willing to complete them.
The Role
You'll support people with disability and mental health conditions to live safely and independently in their own homes. This means delivering support that is consistent, well-documented, and centred on each participant's goals.
You'll work within a structured team alongside Team Leaders, behaviour practitioners, and allied health professionals, with clear expectations and genuine support behind you.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver support aligned to each participant's goals, routines, and individual support plans
- Implement Positive Behaviour Support strategies and document accurately in FlowLogic
- Support emotional regulation, skill development, and daily living tasks
- Assist with household routines, meal preparation, and maintaining a safe home environment
- Support community access and participation as rostered
- Complete progress notes and shift records to a high standard every shift
- Identify risks, respond to incidents, and escalate appropriately
- Maintain professional boundaries and respectful communication at all times
Essential Criteria
- Current First Aid (within 3 years) and CPR (within 1 year)
- Current paid NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current paid Working With Children Check
- C-Class Driver's Licence with comprehensive and CTP insurance
- Demonstrated experience implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans
- Proven experience supporting people with mental health and complex needs
- Proven SIL experience
- Strong written communication and a commitment to quality documentation
Highly Regarded
- Experience with FlowLogic or similar NDIS platforms
- Experience in environments requiring consistent routines and structured support
- Sound understanding of participant safeguarding and duty of care
Pay and Conditions
SCHADS Award, Level 2.1 Casual — current rates, plus all applicable casual loadings, penalty rates, and allowances.
