About the role
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Department Manager to join Ocean Landscapes in Wamberal, NSW. This is a full-time position that offers the chance to lead and oversee all maintenance operations, ensuring the highest standards of service delivery across our portfolio of properties and clients. As Maintenance Department Manager, you will be responsible for directing a team of maintenance professionals, managing schedules, budgets, and resources whilst maintaining strong relationships with clients. This role is pivotal to our business success, as you will ensure that all maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to the satisfaction of our clients.

Key responsibilities

- Lead, supervise and motivate the maintenance team, ensuring staff are trained, equipped and performing to company standards

- Plan, schedule and coordinate all maintenance activities across client sites to maximize efficiency and minimize disruption

- Manage maintenance budgets, monitor costs and ensure services are delivered within approved financial parameters

- Conduct regular inspections of properties and maintained areas to ensure quality standards are met and maintained

- Respond to maintenance requests and emergency issues promptly, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and client requirements

- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance work completed, including costs, labour hours and materials used

- Liaise with clients to understand their needs, provide updates on maintenance progress and address any concerns or complaints

- Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes, reduce costs and enhance service quality





- Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to and that the team operates in compliance with relevant legislation

- Source and manage suppliers and contractors, negotiating competitive pricing whilst maintaining quality standards

What we're looking for

- Proven experience in a maintenance management or supervisory role, ideally within landscaping, property maintenance or a related trades industry

- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff

- Solid understanding of maintenance practices, equipment operation and general trades work

- Excellent organizational and planning abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously

- Proficiency in budget management and financial planning

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and staff

- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure

- Knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations relevant to maintenance operations

- Relevant qualifications or certifications in maintenance, supervision or management (preferred)

- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to multiple sites as required

- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks when necessary
