Focus of the Role

As Senior Technology Solutions Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and implementing complex technology solutions that address business challenges. You will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into functional and technical designs.

What You’ll Do Product & Technology - Software Engineering & IT develops and maintains Telstra's software and IT systems, working on some really cutting-edge technologies.

As a Senior Technology Solutions Specialist, you'll shape and drive the technology direction for complex business initiatives, designing scalable, secure and future-ready solutions that deliver real business value. You'll work closely with stakeholders, product teams and engineers to turn strategic objectives into practical architecture outcomes, while guiding delivery and ensuring alignment with Telstra's Reference Architecture Model and engineering standards.



As a trusted technical leader, you'll influence key decisions, mentor architects and engineers, and play a pivotal role in accelerating Telstra's digital transformation journey.

Key responsibilities include:

- Design and deliver scalable, secure and reusable technology solutions that align with business needs and Telstra architecture standards.
- Provide architecture leadership across the solution lifecycle, guiding design decisions, resolving complex technical challenges and ensuring successful delivery.
- Partner with business stakeholders, technology teams and vendors to influence outcomes, define requirements and accelerate value delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement, innovation and technology adoption by identifying opportunities to enhance performance, stability and customer experience.
- Mentor and enable delivery teams through solution governance, knowledge sharing, technical guidance, risk management and architecture best practices.

About You You are excited by technology and innovation, you thrive in an environment where it is constantly adapting to be at the forefront of technical innovation using automation to address challenges streamlining the need for manual repetition. You enjoy collaborating with others and lead by example to inspire people in their careers.

Essential Skills:

- 8+ years’ experience in IT Architecture and Solution Design
- 3 + years in Analysing, specifying and documenting architectural solutions to satisfy complex business requirements involving large numbers of systems.
- Experience in working in Agile at scale
- Experience in working in TMF based ODA and API design.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders, align competing priorities and drive consensus on complex architecture and design decisions.
- Strong experience designing cloud-native solutions across Azure and/or AWS, with expertise in SaaS platforms, integration patterns, APIs and microservices.




- Deep technical knowledge of solution architecture, including data modelling, database design, system integration and up-to-date software delivery practices.
- Collaborative and outcome-focused, with experience working across agile delivery teams and contributing to technology roadmaps, innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Desirable skills:

- Technology evaluation, analysis and consulting
- Telecom experience – OSS /BSS
- Experience in CRM, Orchestration, AWS etc
- Industry certifications such as TMF or TOGAF
