About the role
We are seeking a Service Technician to support customers across the Launceston, Devonport, and Burnie region in Tasmania. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong technical aptitude, a mechanical mindset, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
As a Service Technician, you will work closely with customers and internal teams to ensure chemical treatment programs, dosing systems, and monitoring equipment are operating effectively. You'll play a key role in maintaining customer satisfaction through regular site visits, testing, reporting, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine sampling and laboratory testing of process systems
- Monitor and maintain chemical inventory levels on customer sites
- Inspect, clean, calibrate, and optimise dosing and monitoring equipment
- Conduct minor equipment repairs and basic maintenance activities
- Record test results and service data accurately in reporting systems
- Identify and rectify faults or escalate issues as required
- Support customer trials and improvement projects
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and safety compliance
- Build robust relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
- Travel to customer sites across Northern Tasmania as required
What you need to be successful
- Current Australian Driver's Licence (essential)
- Strong commitment to safety and ability to identify workplace hazards
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work autonomously and manage priorities
- Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable working at heights and in industrial environments
- Ability to travel regularly throughout the region
- Trade qualification or degree in Chemistry/Science is highly regarded
- Experience servicing pumps, dosing systems, instrumentation, or industrial equipment is advantageous
