ABOUT THE ROLE

Join us as an Underground Electrical Technician on a 2-year Fixed Term Contract at our Dendrobium Coal Mine , located near the vibrant coastal city of Wollongong, just 75 km south of Sydney.

As an Underground Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for performing electrical maintenance and inspections on underground equipment to ensure secure, compliant, and reliable support to coal production operations.

Key responsibilities include:

- Executing work orders safely and in line with the work order management system

- Identifying faults, participating in root cause analysis, and recommending improvements

- Reviewing and updating job procedures, work instructions and task lists

- Accurately capturing maintenance history and reporting incidents and hazards





- Participating in pre-shift briefings, handovers and behavioural observations

To be considered for this role, you will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

- Working with electrical systems in underground or heavy industry environments

- Applying safe work practices in hazardous areas and high-risk settings

- Interpreting job instructions and procedures before commencing tasks

- Contributing to a team-focused, values-driven work culture

- Identifying improvement opportunities and taking initiative on task execution

To be successful in this role you’ll need the following qualifications, skills and competencies:

- Generic Underground Induction

- Electrical Trade Qualification

- Electrical Supervisors Certificate

- EEHA - Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas Certificate

- Valid Driver’s Licence

- First Aid Certificate (desirable)

- Mining with a preference to underground coal mining

- High Voltage switching experience (desired)

- A good work ethic, with motivation to work in challenging situations
