Site Supervisor – Piling, Foundations & Slope Stabilisation

Location: Predominantly South-East Queensland, with travel to Northern NSW and Queensland Mid to North Coast as required Employment Type: Full-time

Position Overview

Doval Constructions is seeking an experienced and capable Site Supervisor to lead site crews delivering specialist civil construction works across piling, foundations and slope stabilisation projects. This is a hands-on supervisory position suited to someone who can take ownership of day-to-day site operations, lead crews effectively and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard of workmanship.

The role will predominantly operate throughout South-East Queensland, however our project locations vary and the successful applicant must be willing to undertake remote works throughout Northern NSW and Queensland's Mid to North Coast when required.

Key Responsibilities

The Site Supervisor will be responsible for:

- Leading and supervising Doval site crews undertaking piling, foundation, drilling, ground engineering and slope stabilisation works.
- Planning and coordinating daily site activities, including labour, plant, equipment, materials and subcontractors.
- Conducting daily pre-starts, toolbox talks and site safety activities.
- Ensuring all works are undertaken in accordance with SWMS, project specifications, engineering drawings, construction methodologies and relevant safety requirements.
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications and engineering details and communicating requirements clearly to site crews.
- Monitoring workmanship and ensuring completed works meet project quality requirements and tolerances.
- Maintaining productivity and ensuring labour, plant and equipment are utilised efficiently.
- Identifying upcoming resource, material, plant and access requirements and communicating these requirements to project management.
- Monitoring site progress against programme and promptly communicating delays, constraints, variations and additional works.
- Identifying site problems early and working with Project Managers and Engineers to develop practical solutions.
- Coordinating with clients, principal contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and other site stakeholders.




- Completing accurate site documentation including daily diaries, timesheets, pre-starts, quality records and other required project documentation.
- Supporting mobilisation and demobilisation of crews, plant and equipment.
- Maintaining organised, safe and professional work areas.
- Mentoring and developing crew members and maintaining appropriate standards of behaviour and performance.
- Working alongside the crew where required to support successful project delivery.

Safety, Quality & Environmental Responsibilities

The Site Supervisor is expected to lead by example and take an active role in maintaining Doval's safety and quality standards.

This includes

- Ensuring work is planned and performed safely.
- Identifying hazards and implementing appropriate controls before work commences.
- Ensuring crew members understand the SWMS, work methodology and their individual responsibilities.
- Stopping or correcting unsafe work where necessary.
- Ensuring environmental controls and project requirements are maintained.
- Monitoring workmanship throughout construction rather than relying solely on final inspections.
- Ensuring required quality documentation and records are completed accurately and on time.
- Reporting incidents, hazards, defects and non-conformances promptly.

Leadership Expectations

Doval expects its Site Supervisors to take ownership of their sites and lead from the front.

Experience & Requirements

The successful applicant should have:
- Demonstrated experience supervising crews within civil construction.
- Experience within piling, foundations, slope stabilisation, drilling, ground engineering or similar specialist civil works highly regarded.
- Strong practical construction knowledge and the ability to coordinate site activities independently.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and construction documentation.
- Sound knowledge of WHS requirements and safe systems of work.
- Experience coordinating labour, plant, equipment, subcontractors and materials.
- Strong organisational and forward-planning skills.
- Valuable verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to accurately complete site and project documentation.
- Practical problem-solving skills and sound judgement.
- Current Australian driver's licence.
- Current Construction Industry White Card.
- Relevant plant, high-risk work and construction competencies applicable to the position.

Travel & Working Arrangements

The position will be predominantly based on projects throughout South-East Queensland. From time to time, Doval undertakes projects requiring crews to work away from home, including throughout Northern NSW and Queensland's Mid to North Coast.

The successful applicant must therefore be willing to travel and work remotely for periods of time when required by project commitments.

Flexibility regarding working hours, early starts and occasional extended shifts may also be required depending on project conditions and construction programmes.
