About the role The Skipper will ensure guests enjoy a safe, informative and memorable experience through professional vessel operation, reef interpretation, snorkel supervision and outstanding customer service. You will operate our custom-built 12m RHIB vessel designed specifically for reef adventures, allowing guests to access some of the most spectacular snorkelling locations on the Great Barrier Reef.

Key responsibilities

- Safe operation of our custom-built 12m RHIB vessel

- Delivering exceptional guest experiences through guiding and interpretation

- Conducting passenger safety briefings and snorkel briefings

- Safe supervision of snorkelling activities

- Assisting guests in and out of the water when required

- Excellent communication with crew, reservations staff and management

- Completion of daily vessel logs and operational paperwork

- General vessel maintenance, cleaning, fuelling and presentation

- Assisting with scheduled servicing and equipment maintenance

- Maintaining compliance with all SMS, AMSA and WHS requirements

About you

- Coxswain Grade 1 NC or Master <12m NC (Open Water / Unrestricted)

- Elements of Shipboard Safety (ESS)

- Current First Aid Certificate

- Current CPR Certificate





- Current Oxygen Administration Certificate

- Open Manual Driver's Licence

- Blue Card (or ability to obtain)

- Previous reef tourism or marine tourism experience (desirable)

- Snorkelling or eco-guiding experience (desirable)

- Strong customer service and public speaking skills (desirable)
