Your Opportunity
Note: This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with an outlook to permanent.
As a Solution Architect, you will be responsible for providing architectural support, guidance and governance for the delivery of business transformation projects as part of Enterprise PMO Delivery Portfolio. The role is critical for ensuring business strategy, operational needs and technology investments are aligned to deliver business outcomes spanning across technical design to risk management, stakeholder alignment and delivery success.
Your Responsibilities
- Responsible for assisting the adoption of architecture standards & methodology in line with NSW LRS’s enterprise architecture principles and strategy.
- Manages and supports architecture activities that take place during solution ideation, solution design, and solution implementation.
- Reviews business context for solutions to company challenges/business problems.
- Defining the vision and requirements for the solution, recommending potential options, (which may include RFIs,
RFPs or prototype development), selecting the most optimal option, and the development of a roadmap for the selected solution.
- Communicates the architecture to the stakeholders, collaborates and coordinates with other architects in the formalisation and adoption of IT standards and procedures.
- Champions a structured approach to business application solutions.
- Directly assists in the development of a solutions architecture program for IT systems architecture.
- Assures solutions not only are fit for the specific purpose but also closely align with the standards guidelines of technology solutions.
- Influences changes to architecture and technology standards when necessary.
- Ensures solutions are cost effective and ongoing operational costs are considered as part of solutions.
- Directs the identification and recommendation of appropriate solutions, upgrades, replacements, or decommissioning options incorporating business and technology productivity, usability, and total cost of ownership.
- Develops and executes solutions which improves productivity and removes reactive work.
- Provides analysis of security protection technologies as necessary.
About You To be successful in this role you will:
- 10+ years IT experience, including 5+ years Solution Architecture experience
- Proven experience in solution architecture within complex enterprise environments
- Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure,
integration and Cloud-based solutions
- Experience and strong understanding of AWS and Cloud architecture including networks, hardware and software technologies
- Knowledge and understanding of Snowflake, Java, Identity and Access Managements, Observability is highly regarded
- Technically creative and open-minded, robust analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in designing enterprise grade solutions across diverse range of technologies and platforms.
- Exposure to multiple development methodologies
- Ability to work in a high compliance and regulated environments
- Broad understanding of information technology topics
- Effective interpersonal skills, team-oriented management style and a learning mindset
- Excellent oral and written communication and ability to translate technical concepts cleary with a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience across the software development lifecycle, including high level estimation and business case development.
- Knowledge and understanding of industry trends and technologies
