Electrical Service Manager – Commercial Electrical
Adapt Essential Services is an established, family-owned electrical and essential services company that has been operating for more than 30 years.
We have a close-knit management and service team providing electrical maintenance, compliance, testing, auditing and project services to commercial, government and facility-management clients across Victoria.
As a privately owned business, our management team works closely together, decisions can be made quickly, and our people have the opportunity to genuinely contribute to how the business operates and develops.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Service Manager to take a key role within our electrical division.
The Role
Reporting directly to senior management, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and performance of our electrical service works, from initial client request through to completion and close-out.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing electricians and electrical service works across multiple client sites
Reviewing, planning and coordinating works, including labour, materials and technical requirements
Preparing and reviewing quotations, scopes and variations
Providing technical direction and hands‑on support to our field team when required
Managing job performance, including quality, safety, compliance and profitability
Building strong client relationships and managing works through to completion
Liaising with clients, consultants, electrical inspectors and other stakeholders
Managing supply‑authority/distributor requirements, applications, metering and associated paperwork
Ensuring completed works are properly documented and closed out
Working closely with our existing management team to coordinate resources, priorities and service delivery across the business
Location & Travel
Our office is based in Dandenong South, with clients and projects located throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria. The successful applicant must be comfortable travelling throughout Victoria as required.
About You
Ideally, you will have:
A current Victorian electrical licence and Australian driver's licence
Strong commercial electrical service and maintenance experience, ideally in a management or supervisory role
Strong technical knowledge with practical field experience
Experience managing electricians, multiple jobs and competing priorities
Strong estimating and quoting skills, with an understanding of job costing and commercial outcomes
Experience dealing with electricity distributors/supply authorities, electrical inspectors, metering, applications and associated compliance paperwork
Good knowledge of Victorian electrical regulations and applicable Australian Standards
Robust communication skills and confidence dealing with clients, consultants and other stakeholders
Good computer and administrative skills
Experience working with government, council, facility‑management or commercial maintenance contracts would be highly regarded.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who takes ownership, follows things through and works well as part of a close management team.
You will need to be comfortable managing multiple priorities, making sound technical and commercial decisions and taking responsibility for outcomes.
This is a management role with a hands‑on element when required. We are looking for someone who is prepared to remain practically involved — whether that means attending site to investigate an issue, fault finding, assessing works for quotation, supporting our technicians with complex problems or getting on the tools when needed.
We value someone who can work independently and make decisions, while also recognising when collaboration with the wider management team will achieve the best result.
What We Offer
$135,000–$150,000 base salary + super + company vehicle
Permanent full‑time position
Established family‑owned business with more than 30 years' industry experience
Supportive, close‑knit management team
Direct involvement with business owners and senior management
Genuine input into how our electrical service operation is managed and improved
Diverse commercial, government and facility‑management client base
Senior role with genuine responsibility and autonomy
Long‑term career opportunity within an established and growing business
Applicants must have the right to work in Australia and hold a current Victorian electrical licence and Australian driver's licence.
The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a current National Police Check due to the nature of our client base.
