Company Description Raise the Bar Psychology is a private educational and developmental group practice that provides a safe, inclusive, and neuro-affirming environment for people of all ages. As one of the largest educational and developmental group practices in Australia, the team specialises in learning, development, and comprehensive assessments. The clinic has a strong focus on identifying and diagnosing autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, developmental delay, intellectual disability, and mental health concerns.
Each assessment includes a detailed report that can support NDIS and Centrelink applications, reasonable adjustments in education and work, and special provisions for exams. Beyond assessment, Raise the Bar Psychology offers ongoing, person-centred and trauma-informed support to help individuals and families implement recommendations across home, school, and workplace settings.
Role Description This contract role is for Speech and Occupational Therapist Assessment Positions based in one of more of Rasie the Bar Clinic's Melbourne locations in Heatherton, Clyde North and Moonee Ponds, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows some work from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting speech and occupational therapy assessments for children, adolescents, and adults either in-clinic or in schools, using evidence-based tools aligned with neurodevelopmental and educational frameworks. The role involves collaborating with psychologists and other professionals to interpret assessment results, contribute to comprehensive reports, and provide clear, practical recommendations for clients and their support networks.
Team members will communicate regularly with families, schools, and other stakeholders to support implementation of strategies across environments.
Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate clinical documentation, participating in case discussions, and contributing to a protected, inclusive, and neuro-affirming practice culture.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Speech Pathology or Occupational Therapy, including assessment, intervention, and report writing for neurodivergent and neurotypical clients.
- Sound understanding of and experience working with neurodevelopmental presentations.
- Strong Communication skills, including the ability to explain complex assessment findings in clear, accessible language to clients, families, and external stakeholders.
- Experience or training in Pediatrics, particularly in working with children and adolescents with developmental differences and learning challenges.
- Recognised qualification in Speech Pathology and/or Occupational Therapy, with current registration or eligibility for registration with relevant professional bodies.
- Experience conducting standardised assessments related to autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and developmental disorders is highly regarded.
- Commitment to person-centred, trauma-informed, and neuro-affirming practice, with cultural sensitivity and inclusive, non-discriminatory attitudes.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, with strong time management and organisational skills.
- Professional indemnity insurance and the ability to meet regulatory and ethical requirements for clinical practice in Victoria.
