Role Description The Speech Pathologist Team Leader is a full-time, on-site role based in Canberra. As a Team Leader, you will:
- Provide day-to-day clinical leadership and support to a team of Speech Pathologists.
- Report directly to the Head of Speech Pathology.
- Provide clinical supervision, mentoring and support to clinicians within your team.
- Work towards agreed clinical and team targets, with regular support from the Head of Speech Pathology.
- Support clinicians with clinical reasoning, complex cases, goal setting and intervention planning.
- Encourage reflective practice, evidence-based practice and neuroaffirming approaches.
- Contribute to the development of clinical resources, systems and team processes.
- Support the career development and growth of Speech Pathologists across the team.
- Maintain your own paediatric clinical caseload across clinic and community settings.
- Collaborate closely with our Occupational Therapy and administration teams.
- Participate in case discussions, team meetings and multidisciplinary collaboration.
About You
We are looking for an experienced Speech Pathologist who:
- Holds a recognised Speech Pathology qualification and is eligible for practising membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
- Has experience working in paediatric Speech Pathology. Minimum 5 + years experience.
- Is confident across a broad range of paediatric presentations.
- Has a genuine interest in supporting and developing other clinicians.
- Demonstrates strong clinical reasoning and communication skills.
- Enjoys collaboration and working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Is organised, approachable and able to provide constructive clinical support.
- Is comfortable working towards clinical and professional targets.
- Values neuroaffirming, trauma-informed, family-centred and evidence-based practice.
- Is ready to take the next step into clinical leadership, or is an experienced Team Leader looking for a supportive and collaborative practice.
- Current working with children clearance and any relevant local registrations or checks required to practice in Canberra/ACT.
