REQ684450 - St George Hospital - Surgery Business Manager The Role The vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is ‘exceptional care, healthier lives’. The Business Manager works as a member of the leadership team for the Division of Surgery, Anaesthetics and Trauma Services bringing data, reporting and related insights to the decision making process on performance and service matters for the Division.

This position requires exceptional attention to detail and an investigative nature; providing high-quality information, recommendations and business support to the divisional management team of the designated portfolio area to support efficient and effective management of resources and budgets, assist the facilities to meet their strategic objectives and operational targets.

The incumbent will be required to coach and support managers and be motivated to assist in the achievement of SESLHD's strategic objectives.

Selection Criteria

1. Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Health Management or a related discipline or a combination of study and work experience.
2. Previous experience with budgeting and demonstrated experience in planning and evaluation at strategic and service levels.
3. Demonstrated relationship-building skills including influencing internal and external stakeholders to support strategically and operationally effective decision-making.
4. Demonstrated high level analytical and problem solving skills including the ability to provide sound advice and recommendations across a range of clinical services.
5. Demonstrated skills in managing a number of projects concurrently, with varying timeframes and workloads, in a high volume work environment.
6. Demonstrated experience in a rapidly changing environment, with a continuous improvement approach to identify opportunities and implement change in partnership with the business.
7. Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to coach executive-level and other stakeholders to achieve results.
