Are you passionate about supporting children and young people impacted by domestic and family violence and homelessness?
We are seeking a Child & Youth Specialist Worker to provide trauma-informed, child-focused support to children and young people residing at the Bathurst Women & Children’s Refuge.
About the role
You will:
- Assess children and young people’s needs and develop individualised case plans
- Provide individual and group support and activities
- Support children impacted by trauma, homelessness and domestic and family violence
- Advocate for children and connect families with appropriate services
- Work closely with parents, case workers and external services
- Provide specialist guidance to staff around the needs of children and young people
- Maintain accurate case notes and client records
- Promote cultural connection, safety, wellbeing and positive outcomes
About you
You will have experience working with children, young people and families experiencing complex circumstances, with an understanding of trauma, domestic and family violence and homelessness.
You will bring solid communication, advocacy, case management and relationship-building skills, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A relevant qualification in Youth Work, Community Services or a related field is highly desirable.
Essential: Working With Children Check, National Police Check and current NSW Driver License.
