Operations Supervisor / Chemical Coordinator responsible for ensuring the effective, efficient and protected storage of products. The role involves supervising and coordinating ongoing operations including dangerous goods handling (packaging & documentation) and chemical blending. You will ensure compliance with legislation requirements and provide high-quality customer service to all key stakeholders while working closely with the Operations Manager to ensure the overall success of the business unit.
Key responsibilities
- Liaise with customers to ensure their requirements and instructions are met in a timely and safe manner
- Lead good HSE governance with operational team, including Toolbox meetings, Take 5's etc
- Ensure all equipment and stock is available and serviceable to meet customer and legislative requirements
- Instruct staff / contractors with daily activities
- Manage and perform tank filling/repackaging/blending operations
- Maintain records and reports of activities
- Ensure all products leaving the site are labelled in accordance with customer and legislative requirements
- Manage drill casing activities and inspections
- Maintain HSE records and registers, such as SDS Register, Hazardous Substance Register, Substance Risk Analysis, Schedule 11 Notifications
- Ensure equipment is maintained and fit for purpose
About you
- 3+ years' experience within chemical handling, production, oil and gas and/or warehousing industries
- Experience with packaging, handling and documentation for Dangerous Goods by air & sea (IMDG & IATA)
- Previous experience and knowledge with drill casing handling and inspections
- Ability to motivate others and deliver results
- Ability to communicate with all stakeholders
- Comprehensive understanding of HSE legislation and reporting processes
- Excellent computer skills and literate with Microsoft products
- 2+ years' experience and current forklift licence, including up to 16T
- Current Australian drivers licence
- HR truck licence (desirable)
- Currently hold or ability to pass a National Police Check, including a finger-print check
