peoplefusion is looking for a Senior Recruitment Specialist – Engineering & Industrial to take ownership of our Engineering & Industrial recruitment specialisation.

You might already be an experienced recruiter who knows this market. Or you could have built your career within engineering, manufacturing, mining, resources, construction or heavy industry and be ready to apply your industry knowledge and relationships in a different way.

For us, sector knowledge is valuable. If you understand the industry, know how to build trusted relationships and have the drive and curiosity to learn, we can teach you recruitment.

The opportunity

This role will take ownership of peoplefusion's Engineering & Industrial market, partnering with businesses across Newcastle, the Hunter and surrounding regions to recruit engineering, technical, project and specialist talent.

The roles aren't always easy to fill. Success often means looking beyond an advertisement or database search – understanding the market, asking the right questions, making connections and staying persistent when the obvious approach doesn't deliver.

A key focus will be building trusted client relationships, developing a genuine understanding of their businesses and workforce challenges,



and identifying opportunities to grow and strengthen our presence across the sector.

From taking a brief through to search, candidate engagement, client advice and appointment, there is genuine ownership of the recruitment process. It suits someone who enjoys solving problems, keeping momentum moving and ultimately getting to the right outcome for both clients and candidates.

Who we're looking for

You may already be working in recruitment, or your experience could come from an account management, business development, technical sales, customer relationship or other commercially focused role within the engineering and industrial sector.

You might have spent your career working with manufacturers, engineering businesses, mining and resources companies, contractors or other industrial organisations – building relationships, understanding their operations and becoming someone clients trust to get things done.

Whatever your background, you'll bring a combination of industry knowledge, commercial confidence and strong relationship skills.

We're looking for someone who:

- Has experience across engineering, manufacturing, mining, resources, construction, heavy industry or a related sector
- Has worked in recruitment, account management, business development, technical sales, customer relationships or another client-facing role




- Can build credibility and trusted relationships with clients, candidates and industry contacts
- Is commercially minded and comfortable identifying and developing current opportunities
- Is naturally inquisitive and asks the right questions to understand what a client genuinely needs
- Takes ownership, follows through on commitments and keeps momentum moving
- Has the confidence to have honest conversations, challenge assumptions and work through roadblocks
- Is self-motivated, resilient and focused on achieving outcomes

Previous recruitment experience will be highly regarded, but we're equally interested in hearing from well-connected industrial professionals with strong client relationships and the capability to build a market.

What matters is your understanding of the sector, your ability to connect with people and your drive to see things through.
