Assistant Accountant – Join Our Award Winning Team
Bundaberg Motor Group is seeking a high-performing Assistant Accountant to join our growing Finance Team. This newly created role has been established due to business expansion and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of Queensland's leading automotive dealership groups.

About the Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Assistant Accountant will provide accurate and timely financial support across the dealership. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys analysing data, improving processes, and working collaboratively with operational leaders.

Key Responsibilities:
- Daily reconciliation of bank statement
- BAS/ITI/FBT preparation and lodgement
- Payroll Tax preparation and lodgement
- Manufacture statement processing and payment
- Fixed Asset Register management
- Debtors and Creditors management
- Petty cash management and reconciliation
- Finance Income, Holdback and Bonus Claims management
- Complete month-end tasks including posting journals
- Prepayments and Accruals
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Interim and Final audit assistance
- Partner with FC in process improvement including AI and automation projects
- Assist FC as and when required
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and financial controls.
- Assist with implementing more efficient systems and procedures.
- Support finance-related projects and other business improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate, complete and well-organised financial records.

Qualifications and Skills
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Partly qualified CPA or CA qualification or is about to commence.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Proficiency in financial software and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
Desirable
- Experience in multi-franchise dealership operations.
- Knowledge of manufacturer financial reporting standards.
- Solid understanding of dealership KPIs, including gross profit, absorption, and throughput.
