About the Role
At CSR, we're looking for a WCM Engineer who is passionate about continuous improvement, operational excellence and delivering measurable business outcomes. Supporting our World Class Manufacturing (WCM) program across multiple Sydney sites, this role will drive both cost-saving and revenue-enhancing initiatives across our Exterior Systems operations, helping improve productivity, efficiency and overall business performance.
Based at Bringelly or Minto, and reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll work closely with site leadership, operations, maintenance, quality and procurement teams to identify opportunities, implement sustainable improvements and embed a culture of continuous improvement. This is a highly visible role that combines project management, operational excellence and manufacturing transformation, with responsibility for leading the rollout of WCM initiatives while supporting significant capital investment projects, equipment upgrades and site optimisation programs.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the deployment and maturity of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) across multiple sites, driving operational excellence initiatives that improve safety, quality, delivery, cost and team performance.
- Identify and prioritise improvement opportunities by analysing operational data, assessing production processes and uncovering inefficiencies, waste, constraints and performance gaps.
- Contribute to deliver complex continuous improvement projects from concept through to implementation, ensuring measurable outcomes in productivity, cost reduction, process capability and operational effectiveness.
- Serve as the key interface between site operations and the WCM Centre of Excellence, translating strategic objectives into practical site-based initiatives and ensuring consistent execution of WCM standards.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including Operations, Production, Maintenance, Quality, Procurement and Engineering teams, to drive alignment, engagement and sustainable change.
- Contribute to major capital investment and manufacturing optimisation projects, applying Lean and WCM methodologies to maximise operational performance, equipment effectiveness and return on investment.
- Leverage data analytics, operational KPIs and performance metrics to identify trends, monitor project outcomes and support fact-based decision-making across the business.
- Embed Lean Manufacturing and WCM principles into everyday operations, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and high performance across site teams.
- Monitor, audit and review implemented improvements to ensure perks are realised, sustained and continuously enhanced over the long term.
- Coach, mentor and develop operational teams in Lean, WCM and problem-solving methodologies, building site capability and ownership of continuous improvement practices.
- Drive standardisation and best-practice adoption across multiple sites, ensuring successful initiatives are scalable, repeatable and aligned with broader business objectives.
- Prepare and present transparent reporting, insights and recommendations to leadership, providing visibility of project progress, performance outcomes and future improvement opportunities.
About You
To thrive in this role, you'll combine strong engineering fundamentals with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
We're looking for an engineer who combines strong manufacturing experience with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
You will bring:
- A degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Process, Electrical, Mechatronics or similar).
- Experience in manufacturing, heavy industry, mining or a similar industrial environment.
- Strong Lean and Continuous Improvement capability, including tools such as 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping and Root Cause Analysis.
- Proven success delivering (or exposure) process improvement projects and driving operational change.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret manufacturing data and performance metrics.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and project management skills.
- The ability to influence teams, challenge the status quo and embed sustainable improvements.
Highly regarded:
- Exposure to World Class Manufacturing (WCM) frameworks.
- Experience supporting capital projects, plant expansions or equipment upgrades.
- Knowledge of automation technologies and data analytics tools such as Power BI, SAP or Minitab.
