Taldumande Youth Services is looking for an experienced, confident, values-driven coordinator to lead a frontline team supporting children and young people aged 12–18, and their families, to prevent family breakdown which can lead to homelessness and involvement in the youth justice system.

About the Role:

We provide high-quality case management, outreach and crisis-response services across our family and justice programs. This hands-on leadership role will lead by example and have the necessary skills to support a team of youth workers and case managers working with trauma affected young people in complex environments. Our aim is to implement divisionary strategies to reduce the risk of young people entering the justice system and strengthen family relationships through preservation and restorative practice.

This role reports to the program manager – youth housing: other duties include liaising with internal staff regarding referrals, intake and assessment, developing individualised case plans, providing crisis intervention and support, responding to accommodation needs, outreach and aftercare. You will play a key role in ensuring services are secure, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive, focusing on practical outcomes for young people and families.

Essential Criteria

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Welfare, Community Services, Youth Justice or a related field or minimum 3 years' experience in a leadership role within the youth sector.
- Demonstrated leadership, supervising, and mentoring case managers and youth workers while embedding person-centred, trauma-informed practices.
- Case management experience developing case plans that promote the physical, emotional, developmental, financial, social, and practical well-being of young people.
- Capacity to build working relationships with young people and families through engagement, intervention, and implementing restorative practice strategies.




- Coordinate case conferences and advocate for clients when attending multi-agency meetings with families, carers, DCJ, NSW Police, youth justice, housing, health and community service providers.
- Contribute to property and housing program administration focusing on safety, maintenance and general upkeep of the property to promote livable housing standards and meet compliance requirements.
- Keep accurate documentation including records, reports, risk assessments and data and other approved systems to comply with legislative requirements.
- Participate in supervision, debriefing and internal and external meetings.
- Maintain professional boundaries, ethical behavior and adhering to the organisations code of conduct.

Additional requirements:

- Current unrestricted NSW Driver’s Licence with access to an insured vehicle, current First Aid Certificate, and cleared Paid Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
- Ability to work standard hours and participate in the after-hours on-call roster and attend emergency requests in person when required.
