Based in an idyllic rural setting in North Richmond, NSW, San Miguel is a child-centred family residential service providing intensive, individualised support to vulnerable young parents and their children. San Miguel aims to transform the lives of young parents and their children by improving their safety, wellbeing and life prospects.

San Miguel is a unique service that plays a critical role in keeping children safe and well and keeping young families together. Parents and children receive support from a multi-disciplinary team through a combination of on-site and community-based interventions that ensure children are engaged in safe, developmentally appropriate activities and their parents are supported to set and pursue family and personal goals.

The Program Development Facilitator works in collaboration with the San Miguel team and community stakeholders to support families’ wellbeing and promote engagement with the broader community. You will design, plan and deliver group programs for young parents and their children with a focus on positive parenting, attachment, independent living skills, child development, family communication, trauma-informed parenting and life skills.

Your role will include:

- design, deliver and evaluate group-based programs that are responsive to the needs of young families
- coordinate logistics and develop session content
- facilitate supportive, inclusive group sessions for parents and children
- identify and implement strategies to build relationships and partnerships with local community services
- represent San Miguel at interagency meetings and networks
- monitor participation,



progress and outcomes and collect and evaluate feedback to guide continuous improvement

what we are looking for

With a flexible and mature approach to work, you can work independently as well as part of a team and understand how to build relationships with a wide range of people. You will be creative and collaborative by nature and will enjoy working through a different approach to each client and situation and will thrive in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same!

You will bring:

- passion, commitment and belief in young people
- experience working with vulnerable children and families with complex needs
- a minimum of Diploma qualification in Human Services or related field
- a minimum of 3 years experience in designing, delivering and evaluating group-based programs for families or vulnerable populations
- experience in group facilitation using trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches
- strong understanding of child development, parenting frameworks and family functioning
- demonstrated understanding of child protection and assessing and managing risk
