About Us:
Brisbane Boys' College is an established GPS day and boarding school founded in 1902, dedicated to developing boys into worthy leaders and good citizens. Located just four kilometres from Brisbane's centre, we educate students from Prep to Year 12.
About the Role:
The School Sergeant at Brisbane Boys’ College plays a key role in upholding the standards, traditions and ethos of the College. The position provides visible leadership in student conduct, personal presentation, punctuality, supervision and campus order, while contributing to a culture of respect, accountability, safety and belonging.
Working closely with the Deputy Headmaster, Heads of Sub School, College Leadership, Heads of Year, Student Services and Operations, the School Sergeant supports the development of boys through firm, fair and relational practice. The incumbent must be an exemplary role model who enjoys working with young people, builds positive relationships with students and staff, and demonstrates sound judgement, consistency and professionalism in all aspects of the role.
Position Details:
- Location: Toowong, Brisbane
- Employment Type: Full-time, fixed-term appointment
- Appointment Period: 2027 to 2029
- Salary: $92,000–$131,000 per annum, plus superannuation, commensurate with experience.

You are a confident and compassionate educator with a genuine commitment to supporting boys to thrive. You build positive relationships with students, staff and families and bring sound judgement, strong pastoral instincts and a calm, consistent approach to student behaviour and wellbeing.

you are comfortable working independently, using student data to identify areas of concern and contributing to initiatives that strengthen engagement, accountability and belonging. You will actively contribute to the College Wellbeing Team and demonstrate a strong commitment to the Christian ethos, traditions and values of Brisbane Boys’ College.

Qualifications:
- Relevant teaching qualification
- First aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

- It is a condition of employment that the incumbent holds current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers prior to commencement and throughout their employment in the position.
