The Customer and Innovation group leads and champions the way Urban Utilities connects with its customers. Our approach is focused on remaining contemporary, by understanding the current and future needs of our customers and appropriately shaping our services.

The Catchment Monitoring officer will be responsible for proactively monitoring catchment characteristics, investigating reactive incidents, creating Resource Recovery Centre source control programs, and providing expertise in responding to emerging polluter threats.

The Catchment Officer will report through the Trade Intelligence Manager. The role directly supports the Trade Partnering team's commitment to customer service while maintaining Urban Utilities' obligations with statutory requirements and in accordance with Urban Utilities' trade waste environmental management plan.

Some of your accountabilities will include:

- Collect, review and document technical information to support audit and verification programs.
- Identify and implement improvements to sampling methodologies, field practices and monitoring programs.
- Prepare reports, summaries and visualisations to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Coordinate field activities and investigations with relevant business units.
- Contribute to projects involving wastewater sampling,



catchment characterisation, trade waste verification and contaminants of emerging concern.

About you:

We are seeking candidates who are passionate about shaping our future, and ideally have the following qualifications, skills and experiences:

- Tertiary education in Science, Chemistry, or Engineering, or specialist working experience.
- Demonstrated customer service experience within the utilities or industrial sectors.
- An ability to develop meaningful partnerships with stakeholders in the business to achieve positive outcomes.
- The role requires close contact with raw wastewater. Immunisation (e.g. Hepatitis A and B, Tetanus) may be required in accordance with Urban Utilities' immunisation policy.
- Requirement to hold a Queensland "C" class drivers' licence or equivalent interstate licence.
