We are partnering with an Australian R&D; and manufacturing company developing next generation platforms for defence applications. As the business grows, they are looking for a Work and Health Safety Coordinator / Officer to support a strong safety and compliance culture across engineering and manufacturing operations.

Position
We’re seeking a WHS Coordinator / Officer to support day to day WHS activities, compliance, documentation, training, and continuous improvement. This role would suit someone who is hands on, organised, and confident working with operational and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the implementation and maintenance of WHS policies and procedures.
- Assist with risk assessments, hazard identification, and control measures.
- Maintain WHS records, registers, documentation, and reporting.
- Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions.
- Coordinate WHS inductions, training, and toolbox talks.
- Monitor compliance with Australian WHS legislation and standards.




- Conduct workplace inspections and follow up on safety actions.
- Support managers and employees with day to day WHS queries.
- Contribute to ongoing safety initiatives and continuous improvement.

Requirements

- Previous experience in a WHS Officer, Coordinator, or similar role.
- Relevant WHS qualification such as Cert IV in WHS or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and risk management.
- Experience with WHS documentation, reporting, and compliance processes.
- Robust communication, organisational, and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Manufacturing, engineering, defence, or similar industry experience is desirable.
