St John of God Midland Public Hospital we provide a comprehensive range of services including emergency medicine, critical care, day chemotherapy, paediatric care, aged and stroke care, maternity and general surgery.

Our 307-bed public hospital is operated under a public-private partnership between the State Government and St John of God Health Care.

Our Services include wide range of public health care services for people in Midland and surrounding communities. Our services include 24-hour emergency care, public maternity care, Aboriginal pregnancy and maternity support through Moort Boojari Mia, acute mental health treatment and medical and surgical care.

About the role

Are you passionate about customer service, great coffee, and creating a welcoming experience for others? We are seeking friendly, enthusiastic and experienced Café Hosts to join our team at St John of God Midland Public Hospital.

In this fast-paced and rewarding role, you will provide exceptional service to hospital visitors, patients and the wider community. You will prepare quality beverages and food, assist customers with their purchases, maintain attractive displays, and help ensure the café operates smoothly and efficiently.

Available Opportunities

Position 1 - Part Time (24-30 hours per week)

- Monday to Friday

- Fixed rotating roster:

- 6:00am to 12:00pm

- 7:30am to 1:30pm

- Candidates must be highly capable of working in a fast-paced coffee environment.

- This role is best suited to experienced Baristas or Head Baristas with strong coffee-making skills and the ability to manage high-volume service periods.

Position 2 - Casual





- Availability required Monday to Sunday

- Shifts may vary between:

- 6:00am to 2:30pm

- 11:30am to 8:00pm

- Candidates must be available to work both shift patterns and demonstrate flexibility across the operating roster.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver exceptional customer service to patients, visitors and staff.

- Prepare a range of quality hot and cold beverages to a high standard.

- Assist with food preparation, presentation and service.

- Operate point-of-sale systems and process customer transactions accurately.

- Maintain café displays and ensure stock is presented attractively.

- Uphold food safety, cleanliness and hygiene standards at all times.

- Contribute positively to a supportive and collaborative team environment.

You will have a positive and friendly attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a busy food and beverage environment. You will be able to work both independently and as part of a team, with strong organisational skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities. Previous cash handling experience, a high standard of personal presentation and punctuality, and sound food handling knowledge are essential.

We can offer you

- Salary: $64,436 to $67,489 per annum plus 12% superannuation

- Casual Hourly Rate: $40.63 to $42.56 (inclusive of casual loading) plus 12% superannuation.

- 1 x Permanent Part-Time & 2 x Casual positions available.
