Plus Community, a proud part of Housing Plus, has been providing community services to Regional NSW for nearly 20 years.
At Plus Community, we are dedicated to offering a comprehensive range of support services designed to meet the diverse needs of individuals and their families. Our services include Domestic and Family Violence Support, Employment Support, Homelessness Support, Post Release Support, and Housing Support through Housing Plus. Our holistic approach ensures that we not only provide housing but also the crucial support needed to foster independence and choice.
We have recently been awarded a pilot contract to provide a ‘Sexual Violence Justice System Navigator’, to support to people who have experienced sexual violence and attend the Orange police station.
We are now looking for a full time Sexual Violence Justice System Navigator (JSN) based in the Orange police station for a max term contract to 30 June 2028 (with the possibility of extension pending success of the pilot).
The JSN will work in partnership with Police to assist women, people who identify as women or non-binary people, who have reported sexual violence. The JSN will assist and support complainants in sexual violence matters to navigate the complexity of the justice system during the investigative process. The JSN operates with a high degree of autonomy and must be able to manage their work independently and in collaboration with Police and other sexual assault services.
This role is dedicated to providing trauma informed, cohesive, responsive and client focused service delivery to victims of sexual violence, whilst working with local community networks, programs and plans to ensure a coordinated response.
To be successful, you will require:
• Excellent networking, communication and relationship-building skills
• Knowledge and understanding of the dynamics, complexities,
and legal and social welfare consequences of sexual violence
• Detailed understanding of the justice response to sexual violence including Police and court processes, ADVOs and criminal charges
• Solid experience in supporting women experiencing sexual violence and detailed understanding of trauma
• Knowledge of related legal matters such as family law, care and protection, migration, and victim’s compensation issues
• Knowledge of relevant local services to ensure appropriate referrals are made to address clients’ ongoing social welfare and legal needs
• Ability to work well independently, including good time management and task prioritisation skills

This is a full time (38 hours per week, Monday to Friday) Maximum Term Contract.
This position is classified as a Level 6.1 under the SCHADS Award, which equates to $115,337 gross per annum (full time equivalent). As Plus Community is a Not for Profit organisation, we have access to excellent salary sacrifice options to increase your take home pay!
