About the role

Complete Staff Solutions are seeking a dedicated Asset Maintenance Officer to join our team in Ballina, NSW. This is a casual position offering flexibility whilst providing essential maintenance and support services to local government operations. As an Asset Maintenance Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that municipal assets are maintained to the highest standards, contributing directly to the safety, functionality, and longevity of Council infrastructure and facilities. Your work will have a tangible impact on the community, ensuring that public assets remain in optimal condition for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Key responsibilities

Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance on Council assets, including buildings, parks, roads, and recreational facilities

- Responding promptly to maintenance requests and work orders, diagnosing issues and implementing repairs

- Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs undertaken, and asset conditions

- Identifying and reporting potential safety hazards or defects that require immediate attention

- Assisting with asset lifecycle management and contributing to maintenance scheduling

- Operating and maintaining tools and equipment in a safe and professional manner

- Collaborating with other maintenance staff and Council departments to co-ordinate work activities





- Adhering to health and safety regulations and Council policies at all times

What we're looking for

- Proven experience in asset maintenance, facilities maintenance, or general maintenance roles, preferably within a local government or public sector environment

- Sound knowledge of maintenance procedures, safety standards, and best practices applicable to municipal assets

- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and basic maintenance equipment

- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow written instructions and work procedures accurately

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

- A valid C class driver's licence (MR licence desirable) White Card, LF Licence

- Experience and ability to work at heights (desired)

- Physical fitness and the capacity to perform manual work in various weather conditions

- Problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative in resolving maintenance issues
